The Westminster Foundation

The Westminster Foundation is an independent charitable trust, representing the philanthropic activity of the Grosvenor family and the Grosvenor Estate.

The Westminster Foundation makes grants to UK registered charities that benefit the communities in and around:

  • Cheshire West and Chester

  • Parts of the old Metropolitan Borough of Westminster

  • Rural Lancashire, near the Forest of Bowland

  • North West Sutherland

This grant making aims to tackle some of the symptoms and causes of poverty in the UK. The Foundation's strategy is to ‘support communities in need’, focusing on a handful of vulnerable groups including those experiencing homelessness, affected by mental health or physical disability, and the effects of family breakdown.

Under the small grants programme we award up to £5,000 and provide a quick response to applicants. Major grants are generally £15,000–£25,000.
