The key villages of Aldford, Eccleston and Saighton are popular places to live, retaining much charm and character, with distinctive John Douglas designed houses.
Our ethos is to apply the highest management standards to these villages and the other communities on the estate, the properties that comprise them and the surrounding land. This means getting to know our tenants and understanding their needs as well as carefully maintaining the buildings and the surrounding environment. Many of the buildings date back to around 1870 when they were designed by architect John Douglas, however, we have also built a number of newer properties, developed to 21st century environmental standards and we take the opportunity to modernise and improve when renovation projects are undertaken.
Each of the villages on the Eaton Estate has its own particular identity. They share a look and feel characterised by architectural design, use of the same paint colours, and approach to management of the local environment. However, the villages enjoy a friendly rivalry in 'best kept village' type competitions and annual cricket matches.
The Eaton Estate is only 3 miles from the historic city of Chester, renowned for its stunning Cathedral and famous timbered ‘Rows’ where small independent retailers are mixed with national names in a unique, two storey structure. For a small city Chester retains a distinctive personality and has a zoo, a racecourse, the five star Chester Grosvenor hotel and an award winning University.
The river Dee runs through the city and to the Eaton Estate, providing a focus for local rowing other water sports, walking and other outdoor leisure pursuits. Local schools are excellent and there is a selection of good quality state and private education available. Together with well connected road and rail links, making London two hours away, Manchester 45 minutes away and Liverpool 35 minutes away and having the hills of North Wales on our doorstep, all this means that the Eaton Estate offers a popular base in which to live and to work.
