There are 3 booklets that can be purchased from Eaton Estate Office; one about the Gardens, one about the carriage collection and one about the railway.

This year HRH The Prince of Wales visited the Eaton Estate village of Aldford. He laid the corner stone of a new Affordable Housing initiative and met the local people. In the evening there was a ball for the Prince's Trust. For the full story please click here.

Aldford

Thanks to the initial effort of the 1st Duke of Westminster, the architectural excellence of John Douglas and many years of careful management and conservation, to this day, the key villages on the Eaton Estate retain unique charm and character.

Aldford

Aldford

This is the larger of the key Estate villages with around 105 dwellings.  It has a village shop, church, community hall and bowling green. It is also able to boast a rather unique annual event known as the “Aldford Onion Show” at which locals convene to show and compete for prizes for growing and preparing various home grown vegetables and produce.

One of the key buildings within the village is the acclaimed public house, The Grosvenor Arms.

Interspersed amongst the houses and cottages are a number of businesses now occupying converted Victorian buildings for various uses. These include a veterinary practice, and interior design, and offices and workshops for a bespoke furniture design business.

The junior department of Abbeygate College has its home in what was previously the County Primary School building.
