Tea House & Herb Garden

The Tea Garden

This garden was created in 1872 by the Chester-based architect John Douglas and it was here that  the butler would have served afternoon tea to the 1st Duke’s family and guests.

The present garden was completely redesigned in 2001 when the central borders were planted with an aromatic mix of herbs with roses and shrubs in the outer borders.
