There are 3 booklets that can be purchased from Eaton Estate Office; one about the Gardens, one about the carriage collection and one about the railway.

This year HRH The Prince of Wales visited the Eaton Estate village of Aldford. He laid the corner stone of a new Affordable Housing initiative and met the local people. In the evening there was a ball for the Prince's Trust. For the full story please click here.

Hedgerows

Many of the fields and woodlands on the Estate are enclosed by hedgerows. Field hedges tend to have hedgerow trees scattered throughout their length, although the density varies between different parts of the estate.

Hedgerows and hedgerow trees are of high landscape and wildlife importance.

In 1983 the estate decided that, in the interests of wildlife conservation, hedges would be allowed to grow thicker and higher and hedgerow bottoms should be allowed to grow to encourage rich flora to develop adjacent to the base of the hedge.

The flora and bird life of hedges increases with the length of time between cuts and none are cut between 1st March and 31st August in order to protect birds while nesting.
